Keep It Simple...

Welcome to my blog! I've been at "this place" for about one year, with no words and no action. Tonight, I was talking with a friend, and she said, "just keep it simple. Just 'do it!''

And with those three words, I sat down and started writing. Mind you, it hasn't been quite so "simple" for me to do. I've read books, blogs, tweets, etc., about how to get started, how to format, add this "plug-in",etc. I signed up for @JohnHaydon 's class, "31 Days to Optimize Your Blog w/ Social Media" and @SarahRobinson 's,  "30 Day Game Changer," (I wanted to be a Tribe member), yet throughout all of that month, I did zero, zilch, nada. I thought... a lot. I read other folks' blogs.I lacked the "action piece." I was encouraged by so many folks...way too many to list here, especially in my "keep it simple" first post. I believe you know who you are, I hope so.

I just knew my blog wouldn't resonate with anyone. I would never be able to write like @Sally_G or @RebelBrown or fifty others. However, tonight, it just hit me...duh...it doesn't matter. I have stories to tell and causes that I'm passionate about and I want to share them with all of you. At this moment, I'm just like others that have sat down in front of a blank screen and stared and questioned themselves and doubted how their words/message would be received. I can hear @SarahRobinson in the back of my head saying, "just hit the send/publish button!" YAY!!

So, I'm keeping it REAL simple tonight! Nothing heavy to ponder, just a simple post. And, I'm grateful!! Grateful for all the encouragement and love and prayers that came my way via Twitter, Facebook, the web, phone calls and emails. My life is richer because of all of YOU. I'm full of JOY visualizing all of your beautiful faces! All of YOU make my heart smile. And I can't wait to write my next post. I can't wait to share more about my journey, with all its twists and turns and rocks and boulders. All of you are part of my journey now. WOOTY WOOT !!

So, make a JOY-FULL noise wherever YOU are...spread JOY wherever YOU go...you'll make someone's day...wherever YOU are! We all need more JOY in our lives. So share what you've got!
Just know that I love all of you. Here's a (((BIG HUG))) to wrap yourself in to start your day!

My heart felt thanks...

Oh Deb- I am SO proud of you!!! And you are so right. We ALL have stores to tell and voice like no other. And, as you know, most of us feel like we are gonna throw up right before we press "publish" - so congrats for pressing it anyway!

Can't wait to see how you grow!

Angels in the mystical realm dance with glee every time one of their own, down on earth, finds their voice ~ and shares it with the full power of love illuminating each and every word.

Your oak tree is startling ~ I love it!

I felt so much of what you wrote. I also benefited immensely from the wisdom and inspiration shared by John Haydon and Sarah Robinson. I also read, observe, assess A LOT online. And I also inevitably come to the conclusion that I have nothing new to say - and my Inner Hermit emerges and I go quiet for awhile.

Keep it simple is such heartfelt, empathic and wise advice. Your written expression is as beautiful as the spirit that infuses each and every interaction in which you're involved.

I feel so blessed to have met you 'out here' in social media land. Congratulations!!

I hope you make plans to attend SOBCon next year. Two themes resonated and continue to linger with me: 1. launch, iterate. Repeat. and 2. Just effin launch it.

:)

Congrats for taking the leap. Will look forward to your evolution in the space.

Best to you, M.

Great job Deb. Your message is SO important to SO many people and you never know who and where it will touch.
What is important is to SHOW UP and BE YOURSELF. Someone is waiting for a sign and your message will be just that sign.
Thank you for having the courage to let your light shine lighting the path for others! DEB YOU RAWK!!!! Love and Hugs

WOW!! I thank ALL of YOU for your encouragement and love!! I thought, (ha ha) that I would be able to respond after each comment, however, I don't think that's the case with this particular format. (Shows you how much I know..LoL)Still a newbie with much to learn. Again, heart felt thanks for being here. You might get a better view if you climb the tree and find a perch.
JOYFull (((HUGS))) & love

Congrats Deb on starting up your blog. And don't worry about comparing yourself with other bloggers because your readers aren't interested in seeing how well you mimic the efforts of others. Instead, they're interested in seeing what you want to bring to the conversation, what ideas you are inspired and motivated to share.

Focus on bringing what is uniquely you, Deb, to the conversation. And remember, we all have something of value to share and impart. Congrats again.
